About me
Sam was fortunate enough to be raised in the hub of the North Island kayaking scene, the Kaituna river. When he was 16 he decided to see what all the fuss was about. He took the words of wisdom from the late James Moore “Bro, if you want to be good, you should paddle every day” and did exactly that. It wasn’t too long before Sam was showing the locals up, and from there he has progressed to the well-traveled world-class kayaker you see today. On first impressions, you often see an outgoing reckless guy causing a ruckess but Sam is the guy all the other guys look up to, the solid one they can depend on, both on & off the river. Your classic adrenalin junkie, nothing is ever enough, and he’s always looking to go harder & faster, pushing the limits and looking for his next challenge, whether it’s exploring a new first decent or swimming & Jet skiing his local class 4 run. He has excelled in both Freestyle & Extreme Competitions all over the world and is always one to step up and run the Gnar! In the past 4 years, Sam has made a name for himself internationally. However, he has only just begun so watch this space…..
